This work was a gift from John Nash to the art historian Allen Freer - authour of 'John Nash - The Delighted Eye'. The work is inscribed on the back with details of the gift and the year in which it was executed. A charming and subtle work. There are occasional notes by Nash within the work suggesting this was a preparatory drawing for a larger scene.
